About the Artist

©  Phyllis Sinrich - All Rights Reserved 2017

Phyllis Sinrich exhibits her work regularly in area juried shows, most notably the annual Faber Birren National Color Award Show, where she has won several sponsored awards over the years. In 2003 one of her abstract photographs was a First Place winner in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Annual National Photo Competition.

Other venues have been the Katonah Museum of Art in Katonah, NY; Silvermine Guild Arts Center in New Canaan, CT; Edward Hopper House Art Center in Nyack, NY; University of Connecticut Art Gallery in Stamford, CT; City Lights Gallery in Bridgeport, CT; Spectrum Gallery, Centerbrook, CT; Blue Door Gallery in Yonkers, NY; the Fairfield Museum and History Center, the Quick Center of the Arts, and the General Electric World Headquarters.

During the past few years she has increasingly exhibited in corporate art galleries, as well as invitational and solo shows. Her photographs are held in private and corporate collections.

Phyllis’ style is deeply influenced by the great expressionist painters. Her “photo-expressionism” is spontaneous and interpretive imagery, focused on capturing powerful emotional reactions through brilliant colors and dynamic compositions.
